The Spirit of Leviathan
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. (Psalm 74:14)
So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. (Psalm 104:25-26)
In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. (Isaiah 27:1)
Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning. (Job 3:8) Job 41 (whole chapter)
Leviathan is a spirit of pride, a stubborn demon that speaks in a rough tone. Leviathan is a very controlling, religious, independent, and rebellious spirit. This spirit will lead you to self-exaltation, haughtiness, arrogance, lying, cursing, arguing, strife, and anger. Unyielding and unteachable, this spirit brings much destruction.
Leviathan’s Purpose
This spirit will try to destroy you, make you fall into sin, and hinder your prayer life. It will try to make you fall asleep while reading the Bible. Leviathan will also not allow you to submit to those in authority.
In many marriages we have found the spirit of Leviathan operating to cause separation and divorce. When a couple is arguing, Leviathan will twist the words of the one speaking so that when those words reach the ears of the other person, it is not what the speaker actually said.
Leviathan will make you reject healing, deliverance, and even the baptism of the Holy Spirit and His gifts. You should never find yourself battling with someone controlled by this spirit, because you will never win. Leviathan does not like the presence of God.
Many times in deliverance this spirit will laugh or mock, sometimes cursing at the one who is ministering. Pride will leave many trails of hurt and pain everywhere it goes. It causes broken marriages, backsliding, and destruction. Proverbs 16:18 (NKJV) says, “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Hindrances that would stop a person from receiving deliverance from the spirit of Leviathan are sin, ungodly soul ties, occultism, fear, embarrassment, unbelief, disembodied spirits (unclean spirits, unsaved souls), unforgiveness, lack of knowledge, and rejection.
Some people will not receive deliverance from Leviathan because his kingdom is often protected by his scales.

How to Set People Free from Leviathan
We first bind the powers and principalities in the air over that area and then ask the angels of the Lord to assist and protect the individual while we apply the blood of Jesus. There should always be one person in charge directing the deliverance.
During a deliverance session with an individual, the spirit of Leviathan is disconnected from its scales, which were identified on the client sheet at the end of the manual. Many times there will be a Leviathan spirit attached to a disembodied spirit (unsaved soul). For example, a warlock or a witch attached to a person will have a Leviathan spirit operating in the spirit of pride, whose job is to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).
When asking questions on the client sheet, we ask for confession of sin so that there will be no legal right for any demon to stay in the person’s soul. We command the controlling spirit of Leviathan to be disconnected, with all of his scales, as we are led by the Holy Spirit to discern which ones are active. They are then cast into the earth in the name of Jesus (Psalm 63:9-11). We should always comfort the person while ministering in deliverance.
We should not be looking for manifestations. Most of the times there will be, but it is best to stop any manifestations in the name of Jesus. We pray by faith and expect the demons to go in the name of Jesus. The person will feel lightened and set free. The joy of the Lord Jesus is the result of deliverance.
Romans 14:17 says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” We ask the Lord to seal the work in the blood of Jesus.
Ways to Keep Your Newfound Freedom After Deliverance
1) Read your Bible daily.
2) Be an active member of a Christ-centered church.
3) Pray in tongues and in your own understanding.
4) Apply the blood of Jesus over yourself every day.
5) Renew your mind daily (2 Corinthians 10:5). (See the “Encourage Yourself in The Lord” page at the end of the manual.)
6) Ask the angels of the Lord to work on your behalf daily (Hebrews 1:14).
7) Pray in the name of Jesus for the manifestations of the fruit of the Holy Spirit to operate in you, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). (See the prayer on the “Binding and Loosing” page at the end of the manual [Matthew 18:18].)
How to Stand
1) Stop living in the past; kill the story! (2 Corinthians 5:17).
2) Think positive, according to the Word (Philippians 4:8-9).
3) Adopt the right attitude (Ephesians 4:31-32).
4) Trust the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16)
5) Speak to your mountain (problem) and command it to go (Mark 11:23).
6) Walk in forgiveness (Matthew 6:14).
